I have notice from Senator Norris that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to make a statement outlining the detail under which applications for asylum are processed by the Department.
I regard the matter raised by Senator Norris as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and it will be taken at the conclusion of business.
As this is the final sitting of the session, I thank all Senators, members of staff, representatives of the media and everybody associated with the working of the House for their co-operation and courtesy during this session. I extend to all who assist in our work best wishes for a joyful, happy and relaxing Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous 1998.
