Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 25 Feb 1998

Vol. 154 No. 9

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator O'Toole that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

In view of the need for a second special class at post primary level for children with special needs in Swords and, recognising that St. Finians Community College is the only post primary school at present in the area with a special class, that the Minister would indicate his plans regarding the establishment of a second such class in another school.

I have also received notice from Senator Costello of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to provide a library for the Cabra/Navan Road area.

I have also received notice from Senator Ridge of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to take immediate steps to ensure that young children are not endangered when accompanying their parents or guardians who are selling the "Big Issues" magazine at major traffic intersections in Dublin.

I regard the matters raised by Senators O'Toole and Costello as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Ridge may give notice on another day of the matter she wishes to raise.
