Seanad Éireann debate -
Thursday, 5 Mar 1998

Vol. 154 No. 12

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator O'Toole that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to raise with the Turkish and European authorities the persecution of Turkish teachers for doing their jobs and to question the readiness of Turkey to become part of the European Union.

I have also received notice from Senator Avril Doyle on the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to address the need for additional accommodation at St. Margaret's national school, Curracloe, Country Wexford.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
