Thursday, 26 Mar 1998

Vol. 154 No. 17

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Cosgrave that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to outline her views on the consequences for the travelling public both financial and otherwise of the recent industrial dispute at Dublin Airport.

I have also received notice from Senator Walsh of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Public Enterprise to reopen the investigation into the Aer Lingus Viscount air crash in the vicinity of Tuskar Rock on 24 April 1968, in light of new evidence becoming available.

I have also received notice from Senator Costello of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation to ensure that the terms of reference of the inquiry into allegations of abuse against swimming coaches are adequate to cover the concerns of the victims.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Cosgrave and Walsh as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Costello may give notice on another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
