Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 24 Mar 1999

Vol. 158 No. 15

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Mooney that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Marine and Natural Resources to consider Drumshanbo, County Leitrim, as the location for the proposed secretariat to develop the aquaculture industry in the Border regions and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have also received notice from Senator O'Meara of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to appoint a jobs task force in the town of Roscrea, following the announcement by C. M. Offray of its decision to close the Roscrea plant in May, with a loss of 140 jobs.

I have also received notice from Senator Costello of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to confirm his commitment to provide an all-Irish second level school in north-east Dublin by the beginning of the 1999 school year.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and I have selected the matters raised by Senators Mooney and O'Meara and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Costello may give notice on another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
