Vol. 159 No. 3

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Glynn that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture and Food to make funding available for the upgrading of the road at Cumminstown, Ballynacargy, County Westmeath which is used by a number of locals and which was damaged by Coillte, which transported wood on this road from the local forest a few years ago, and to provide fencing for both sides of the road at Baronstown, Ballynacargy, County Westmeath to facilitate local people moving livestock to and from their farms on this road.

I have also received notice from Senator Caffrey of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to explain why the application made by the board of management, parents and teachers of Corballa National School, County Sligo to have the supply panel of substitute teachers in Ballina extended to include Corballa school has not been acceded to.

I regard the matter raised by Senator Caffrey as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. I regret that I have to disallow Senator Glynn's matter as the Minister for Agriculture and Food has no official responsibility in this matter, which falls within the day to day administration of Coillte.
