Seanad Éireann debate -
Thursday, 18 Nov 1999

Vol. 161 No. 3

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Cosgrave that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to review, in the context of the forthcoming budget, the current threshold levels existing in relation to capital acquisitions tax, particularly affecting dwelling houses, and in particular relating to the treatment of inheritances between sisters and brothers.

I have also received notice from Senator Costello of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to outline progress to date on acquiring the site at St. Brendan's psychiatric unit, Grangegorman, for the Dublin Institute of Technology.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
