Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 8 Dec 1999

Vol. 161 No. 13

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator O'Toole that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs to restore the student summer employment scheme to its original duration, i.e. June to September, inclusive.

I have also received notice from Senator O'Meara of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to make immediate provision to allow for the continuation in its present form of the Nenagh recycling scheme in Nenagh, County Tipperary, which faces closure unless grant aid is made available.

I have also received notice from Senator Quill of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands to make a statement on the future of Cork Local Radio 89FM.

I regard the matters raised by Senators O'Toole and O'Meara as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. I regret that I have to disallow Senator Quill's matter as the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands has no official responsibility for this matter.
