Wednesday, 15 Nov 2000

Vol. 164 No. 10

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Costello that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to outline the progress to date made by the Dublin Institute of Technology towards acquiring the health board site at Grangegorman, Dublin 7; and, further, to outline the uses for which the site is intended.

I have also received notice from Senator Caffrey of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Public Enterprise to outline whether consideration has been given to the question of providing spur lines from the main transmission line of An Bord Gáis from Pollatomish to Galway to the major towns in Mayo that are within a reasonable distance of the main line from the Corrib Field.

I have also received notice from Senator Ross of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development to ensure that adequate training and educational outlets are provided for young people wishing to pursue a career in agriculture.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Costello's and Senator Caffrey's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Ross may give notice on another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
