Vol. 165 No. 4

Business of Seanad.

I have received notice from Senator Cosgrave that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to order a full scale review of prison escorts, having regard to an increase in the number of incidents where prisoners have escaped from custody with the ongoing dangers to prison staff and the public.

I have also received notice from Senator Costello of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to explain why a young girl, details supplied, has been waiting seven years for orthodontic treatment and if he will state when the treatment will be provided.

I have also received notice from Senator Taylor-Quinn of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to immediately instruct the Mid-Western Health Board to provide funding for the purchase of a mammography machine at Ennis General Hospital and to ensure this service is continued on a long-term basis.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Cosgrave, Costello and Taylor-Quinn as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Cosgrave and Costello and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Taylor-Quinn may give notice on another day of the matter she wishes to raise.
