Vol. 165 No. 15

Business of Seanad.

I have received notice from Senator Quinn that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to consider lowering the starting age for compulsory schooling so as to encourage a pattern of regular school attendance at an early age, especially in disadvantaged areas.

I have also received notice from Senator Connor of the following matter:

To ask the Minister for Public Enterprise if she is aware of the very unsatisfactory operation of the schedule on the Knock/Dublin air route and if she will make a statement on the agreement between her Department and Aer Arann on the public funding of the service and the level of cancellations of service, if any, which are allowed under the agreement.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
