Vol. 167 No. 9

Business of Seanad.

I have received notice from Senator Glennon that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Public Enterprise to outline the options which were considered by Aer Rianta and her Department prior to their decision to proceed with a new east-west runway at Dublin Airport, which will have major negative consequences for the surrounding areas and particularly their communities.

I have also received notice from Senator Finneran of the following matter:

The need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, in view of the closure and loss of jobs at Precision Castings in Roscommon town, to consider establishing a special task force to promote alternative job creation in the area.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
