Vol. 168 No. 19

Business of Seanad.

I have received notice from Senator Ryan that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to provide the necessary funding for the construction of five buildings on the Bishopstown campus of the Cork Institute of Technology, where large numbers of students are currently housed in temporary or prefabricated buildings.

I have also received notice from Senator Costello that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to detail the measures he proposes to take against a company based in north Dublin inner city, which has been convicted in the courts of the illegal dumping of waste and other breaches of its licence; and if he will further detail the measures he proposes to take against waste disposal companies that have engaged in illegal activities to prevent them from engaging in such activities in the future.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
