Vol. 173 No. 13

Business of Seanad.

I have received notice from Senator Higgins that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to institute an immediate inquiry into allegations contained in a newspaper (details supplied) on 22 June 2003 that RUC officers may have colluded in the murder of the late councillor, Eddie Fullerton, at his home in Buncrana, County Donegal.

I have also received notice from Senator Bannon of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to make a statement on progress in the rebuilding of the Glanbia meat plant at Rooskey.

I regard the matter raised by Senator Higgins as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. I regret I have had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Bannon as the Minister has no official responsibility in the matter.
