Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 27 Oct 2004

Vol. 178 No. 9

Business of Seanad.

I apologise to the Cathaoirleach, the Members who tabled the Private Members' motion and the Opposition and Government spokespersons. It is unprecedented behaviour for a Minister to leave the House unattended for up to 20 minutes. I will make a formal complaint to the Taoiseach's office about the said Minister. I thank the Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children, Deputy Seán Power, for returning to the House. I apologise for the insulting way in which Members, particularly those who tabled this motion, have been treated. It is not good enough in terms of the standards of this House.

I understand the Minister of State at the Department of the Taoiseach will attend the House but it will be for 20 minutes. The Minister of State, Deputy Seán Power, will attend for now.

I thank the Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children, Deputy Seán Power, for attending.
