Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 3 May 2006

Vol. 183 No. 11

Business of Seanad.

I remind Senator White it is not in order for her to walk across the floor of the Chamber when the Chair is speaking.

I have received notice from Senator Ulick Burke that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to indicate when she will approve the finance for the extension to the Mercy College secondary school, Woodford, County Galway, which is grossly overcrowded.

I have also received notice from Senator Kitt of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to outline the present position on the Glenamaddy, County Galway, sewerage scheme.

I have also received notice from Senator Bannon of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs to give an update on essential funding for Legan, County Longford, neighbourhood watch and community alert under the programme of grants for locally-based community and voluntary organisations.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
