Vol. 188 No. 21

Business of Seanad.

I have received notice from Senator Brian Ó Domhnaill that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to provide an update on the Finn Valley College building project in County Donegal.

I have also received notice from Senator Frances Fitzgerald of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to outline a timeframe for the delivery of the proposed second-level school for South Lucan on lands at Kishoge Cross which she has agreed to in its submission to South Dublin County Council on variations to the Clonburris local area plan.

I have also received notice from Senator Cecilia Keaveney of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to outline the efforts, if any, currently being made, to pursue the provision of a cross-Border or Border business park in the north east Donegal area given the ongoing interest in this concept in the north west for many years.

I have also received notice from Senator John Paul Phelan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to outline the length of time that capital funding will continue to be unavailable to Good Counsel College, New Ross, County Wexford, due to the on-going discussions regarding school amalgamations in the New Ross area.

I have also received notice from Senator Shane Ross of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to secure core funding for the Irish Osteoporosis Society.

I have also received notice from Senator Maria Corrigan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to provide details of the planned expenditure of the additional €50 million provided for disabilities in budget 2008 and to indicate if a requirement for service quality and guidelines for management of allegations of non-accidental injury and abuse will be included in all new service agreements between the HSE and disability service providers.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Ó Domhnaill, Fitzgerald and Keaveney and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators John Paul Phelan, Ross and Corrigan may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
