Vol. 191 No. 15

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Paschal Donohoe that on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to provide an update on enforcement measures that can be and are being taken against the destruction that occurred at the old Methodist Church, Jones's Road, Dublin 3.

I have also received notice from Senator John Paul Phelan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to indicate his immediate plans to reduce substantially the waiting time for scrutiny of long-term residency applications, currently circa two years from date of application, and if he will consider an amnesty for those who find themselves in this situation.

I have also received notice from Senator Pearse Doherty of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Defence to outline the rationale behind the closure of Rockhill and Lifford barracks, County Donegal, and if he is willing to review this decision and the timeframe for implementation.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
