I move amendment No. 16:
In page 31, paragraph 1(3), to delete lines 42 to 46 and substitute the following:
"(c) require the employer to pay to the employee compensation of such amount (if any) as is just and equitable having regard to all the circumstances (including any circumstances in which an employee received any remuneration which was not “pay” within the meaning of this Act) but not exceeding 2 years’ remuneration in respect of the employee’s employment,”.
I thank the Leader for giving additional time to finish the debate rather than guillotining it. That is good and I hope that practice will continue on other future Bills. I formally withdraw amendment No. 16.
