Vol. 218 No. 3

Business of Seanad

I have received notice from Senator David Cullinane that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport to explore the use of GPS tracking devices in life jackets on fishing vessels with a view to making it easier to search for lost fishermen; the steps he has taken in this regard so far; and if he intends to introduce such a measure.

I have also received notice from Senator Lorraine Higgins of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice and Equality to outline the steps he is willing to take to ensure that delays associated with the Garda vetting regime will be abated, if not extinguished.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
