On 19 July 2013, the Taoiseach nominated Ms Hildegarde Naughton, with her prior consent, to fill the casual vacancy in the number of nominated Members of Seanad Éireann caused by the resignation of Dr. Martin McAleese. I welcome Senator Naughton to the House and congratulate her on her appointment.
