Business of Seanad

I have received notice from Senator Brian Ó Domhnaill that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport to immediately engage with his Northern counterpart to seek a complete exemption from the new HGV charge for Irish registered heavy goods vehicles when entering the North of Ireland on or after 1 April 2014.

I have also received notice from Senator Mark Daly of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government to outline the regulatory impact assessments carried out under the Building Control Regulations Act 2013, especially of employment in the industry.

I have also received notice from Senator Colm Burke of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs to clarify the current position on Irish people adopting children from India and, in particular, when she is likely to approve and give recognition to an agency in Ireland to deal with these applications.

I have also received notice from Senator Kathryn Reilly of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs to discuss funding for youth services; the cuts being implemented to youth services and how they impact on the viability of particular projects; and if she will consider reversing the cuts.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
