Vol. 235 No. 3

Business of Seanad

I have received notice from Senator Paul Bradford that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to clarify if the universal social charge which was introduced as a temporary fiscal emergency measure will be phased out as the public finances improve.

I have also received notice from Senator Michael Mullins of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade to put pressure on the German authorities to have an inquiry reopened into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Matthew Fitzpatrick from County Galway in Mannheim, Germany on 11 December 2010.

I have received notice from Senator Rónán Mullen of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice and Equality to give details of the Government's transposition of the EU Crime Directive 2012/29/EU and say whether the Government will establish a service to allow victims of crime to follow the progress of investigations into crimes, including by way of online facilities similar to the TrackMyCrime system in operation in parts of the United Kingdom.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
