Vol. 293 No. 14

Gnó an tSeanaid - Business of Seanad

I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:

Senator Micheál Carrigy - The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine to make a statement on the need for tree felling licences in urban areas.

Senator John Cummins - The need for the Minister for Education to provide sufficient places for students with additional needs in Tramore, Co. Waterford.

Senator Rónán Mullen - The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the Report of the Independent Review of the Operation of the Health (Regulation of Termination of Pregnancy) Act 2018.

Senator Malcolm Byrne - The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the total cost of the cyberattack on the HSE in May 2021; and the actions taken to date to prevent such a recurrence in the HSE and agencies under his remit.

Senator Martin Conway - The need for the Minister for Health to provide additional physiotherapists in each of the CHO areas to ensure MS Ireland can provide the necessary supports to service users with multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's disease.

Senator Tim Lombard - The need for the Minister for Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform to provide an update on conservation works and future plans for Desmond Castle, Kinsale, Co. Cork.

Senator Emer Currie - The need for the Minister for Transport to make a statement on reduced car parking at Dublin Airport this summer and the likely impact on passengers.

Of the matters raised by the Senators suitable for discussion, I have selected Senators Micheál Carrigy, John Cummins, Rónán Mullen and Malcolm Byrne and they will be taken now. I regret that I had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Currie on the ground that the Minister has no official responsibility in the matter.

The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters that they wish to raise.
