Vol. 295 No. 6

Gnó an tSeanaid - Business of Seanad

I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:Senator Róisín Garvey - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to increase the number of enforcement officers for farm inspections to improve water quality.Senator Joe O'Reilly - The need for the Minister for Education to make a statement on the provision of a gym, canteen and social space for St. Aidan’s Comprehensive School, Cootehill, County Cavan.Senator Niall Blaney - The need for the Minister for Justice to make a statement on policing levels in west Donegal under the new Garda Síochána policing proposals.Senator Garret Ahearn - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on the persistently low and zero water pressure from Irish Water throughout the year, particularly during warm weather, in Knocklofty, Clonmel, County Tipperary.Of the matters raised by the Senators suitable for discussion, I have selected Senators Garvey and O'Reilly and they will be taken now. I regret that I had to rule out of order the matters raised by Senators Ahearn and Blaney on the ground that the relevant Ministers have no official responsibility in the matters raised.
