I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:

Senator Martin Conway - The need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs to make a statement on the delays in processing and registering foreign births.

Senator Eugene Murphy - The need for the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications to make a statement on the lack of broadband connectivity in parts of rural Roscommon and its impact on local businesses.

Senator Gerard Craughwell - The need for the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications to make a statement on the proposed pension increase policy in An Post with respect to ex-civil servants.

Senator Paul Gavan - The need for the Minister for Finance to make a statement on increases in mortgage interest rates.

Senator Malcolm Byrne - The need for the Minister for Education to make a statement on the planned additional classrooms for Scoil Íosagáin, Coolgreany, Gorey, Co. Wexford.

Senator Garret Ahearn - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on whether the State will consider purchasing Knocklofty House, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary.

Senator Erin McGreehan - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to extend the domestic wastewater treatment systems grant scheme to all domestic homeowners with septic tanks to permit proactive upgrades or inspections.

Senator Seán Kyne - The need for the Minister for Finance to make a statement on progress in the programme for Government commitment to index-link tax credits and bands.

Senator Maria Byrne - The need for the Minister for Social Protection to make a statement on the measures her Department is taking to support family carers.

Senator Emer Currie - The need for the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth to update the "Childcare Facilities Guidelines for Planning Authorities 2001" document to address the chronic supply issues in childcare.

Senator Barry Ward - The need for the Minister for Transport to put in place penalties for air carriers which fail to provide facilities for wheelchair users for getting on and off airplanes or who lose their mobility device.

Senator Lisa Chambers - The need for the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications to provide an update on the uptake of the deep retrofit grant through one-stop shops; and his plans to deal with any issues identified in the scheme, in particular the addition of windows and doors to the home energy grants.

The matters raised by the Senators are suitable for discussion and the Cathaoirleach has selected Senators Conway, Murphy, Craughwell and Gavan and they will be taken now. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters that they wish to raise.
