Vol. 296 No. 1

Gnó an tSeanaid - Business of Seanad

I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:

Senator Seán Kyne - the need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine to make a statement on ongoing delays in making farm payments to shareholders of Keelderry Commonage, County Galway.

Senator Mary Fitzpatrick - the need for the Minister for Education to make a statement on the remediation of building defects and the provision of special classes at St. Peter's National School, Dublin 7.

Senator Maria Byrne - the need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the reason driving licence medical reports are not covered by the medical card.

Senator Aisling Dolan - the need for the Minister for Education to outline the strategy to manage school places for children in Ballinasloe town over the next five years and the number and cost of home tuition grants that are in place when no school places are available.

Senator Niall Blaney - the need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs to make a statement on the UK Government's Northern Ireland Troubles (Legacy and Reconciliation) Act 2023.

Senator Tim Lombard - the need for the Minister for Health to provide an update on the recruitment campaign undertaken to fill the vacancies in podiatry services in the CHO4 area.

Senator Robbie Gallagher - the need for the Minister of State with responsibility for the Office of Public Works to make a statement on the allocations of funding under the climate adaptation scheme in light of the serious flooding issue in Donaghmoyne, County Monaghan.

Of the matters raised by the Senators that are suitable for discussion, I have selected Senators Dolan, Fitzpatrick, Maria Byrne, Kyne and Blaney and they will be taken now.

Senator Robbie Gallagher has withdrawn his Commencement Matter, which I had originally selected. Senator Tim Lombard may give notice on another day of the matter that he wishes to raise.
