I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:

Senator Rónán Mullen - The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine to make a statement on the public consultation on the use of remotely controlled electronic shock collars in dogs and cats.

Senator Eugene Murphy - The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on progress to fill the vacant speech and language therapist position in County Roscommon.

Senator Rebecca Moynihan - The need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to make a statement on the rise in the cost of infant formula.

Senator John Cummins - The need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to make a statement on the measures being considered for small business owners to alleviate the pressures being faced due to increased cost bases.

Senator Mary Seery Kearney - The need for the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth to make a statement on the withdrawal of programme support payments for childcare centres which have not signed up to the core funding mechanism.

Senator Garret Ahearn - The need for the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science to make a statement on the financial supports available to students studying abroad.

Senator Martin Conway - The need for the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth to agree to implement strict protocols between the HSE and Tusla on the provision of timely, appropriate services and care to vulnerable children and young adults and those with complex needs.

Senator Maria Byrne - The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the proposal that income from the rent-a-room scheme be disregarded for medical card income assessment.

Senator Tim Lombard - The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the timelines for the commencement of ophthalmology services in the new theatres and outpatient units in the South Infirmary-Victoria University Hospital, and full regional eye care services in Ballincollig, County Cork.

Senator Malcolm Byrne - The need for the Minister for Justice to make a statement on plans to reform and expedite the Garda vetting process.

The matters raised by the Senators are suitable for discussion and I have selected Senators Rónán Mullen, Eugene Murphy, Rebecca Moynihan and John Cummins and they will be taken now. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters that they wish to raise.
