I move amendment No. 30:
In page 11, subsection (1), line 31, before "to be" to insert "or other persons".
This amendment relates to the power, under subsection (1), which restricts local authorities to appointing officers of the local authority. This appears to be too limited. I am therefore proposing to empower local authorities to appoint other persons as well as local authority officers, which will afford them greater flexibility in the management of the markets.
