SECTION 169.

I move amendment No. 143:

In page 131, subsection (1), line 44, after "under" to insert "section 156,”.

Section 169(1) requires an examiner, or such other person as the court may direct, to cause notice to be published in Iris Oifigiúil of the delivery to the Registrar of every order made under section 164 or section 166. At my request the parliamentary draftsman has agreed to broaden this section to include orders made under section 156, which deals with court orders arising from a hearing into the disappearance of property in a credit union or serious irregularities. Information about such difficulties in a credit union should be publicly made available in the interests of members and creditors generally. This is the purpose of the proposed amendment which I commend to the committee.

Amendment agreed to.
Section 169, as amended, agreed to.
Sections 170 to 176, inclusive, agreed to.
