I move amendment No. 45:
In page 30, subsection (1), lines 26 and 27, to delete "from sources approved by directions given by the Registrar".
This subsection provides inter alia that a credit union may, subject to its rules, borrow funds on security or otherwise from sources approved by directions given by the Registrar. At the suggestion of the league, I have decided to delete specific reference to the Registrar on the basis that the issue can be dealt with in the registered rules of a credit union, which must be approved in advance by the Registrar under Part II. This is one example of a case where I am acting to remove an unnecessary reference to the Registrar in deference to the wishes of the credit union movement.
