We resume our consideration of the Planning and Development Bill, 1999. I welcome everyone, including the Minister for the Environment and Local Government, Deputy Dempsey, and the officials from the Department.

As agreed, we will meet until 8 p.m. with a break for lunch from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and we will break for the Order of Business from 10.30 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. I remind the committee that we will meet tomorrow, Thursday, 18 May, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
