SELECT COMMITTEE ON EUROPEAN AFFAIRS debate -
Wednesday, 25 Sep 2002

Vol. 1 No. 3

Business of Select Committee.

The minutes of the meeting of 11 September have been circulated. Are they agreed? Agreed.

Arising from the minutes, the committee agreed to seek a meeting with the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to discuss the agenda for the recent Justice and Home Affairs Council meeting. Unfortunately, the Minister is addressing a meeting in Galway today and is not available. He will, however, be available on 9 October. I suggest that we set aside one hour for him, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., and then continue the meeting with the Competition Authority and the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment on the subject of the removal of the block exemption for the motor industry, as agreed, on that date. Is that agreed? Agreed. I will issue a formal invitation to the Minister on that basis.
