I take this opportunity to thank all the Members of the committee, particularly the Opposition spokespersons, for their constructive contributions and co-operation. I also thank the Minister and her officials for the detailed and worth-while debate on an important piece of legislation.
I also wish to be associated with the thanks to all the Members of the committee, especially to the Opposition spokespersons and Deputy Mitchell in particular. I thank them for their co-operation. We had different views in relation go how best to proceed but everybody agreed that it is an important piece of legislation and that ultimately, at the end of all the debate, we want a better Bill. I also express my thanks to the chairman. Due to his work and his attitude to all of the Members, it has worked especially well in ensuring the smooth passage of the Bill through committee.
I join in the Minister's thanks to the Chairman for the manner in which we have made progress on this Bill. I thank the Minister for bringing this Bill before the House because it is an important piece of legislation. I also thank her for accepting the amendments in my name and for her attitude generally to my amendments. The atmosphere has been quite constructive. I intend to introduce one or two more amendments on Report Stage. In particular, I hope the Minister will find it possible to give detailed consideration to my suggestion about court appointed auditors. It may be an important provision. I am pleased with the Minister's attitude and the progress that has been made. I am thankful to her and her officials for their advice and assistance.
The next meeting will be agreed with the convenors.
