Acting Chairman DEPUTY J. BROWNE (Carlow-Kilkenny) IN THE CHAIR.

Clerk to the Committee

A quorum is present. The meeting can now enter public session. Could I have nominations for the Chair in the absence of the Chairman?

I propose Deputy John Browne.

Clerk to the Committee

As there are no other nominations, I ask Deputy John Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny) to take the Chair.

Deputy Browne took the Chair.

I dtosach, ba mhaith liom fáilte a chur roimh an Aire, a chuid oifigí agus gach éinne anseo inniu. The Civil Legal Aid Bill, 1995, has already been passed by the Seanad and I ask for the co-operation of Members in bringing our deliberations on this Bill to a conclusion today. In the event that we do not conclude today, we will not be able to consider the Bill again in July as the Minister has other official commitments. I propose that we work through until 4 p.m. with a sos at 1 p.m. Is that agreed? Agreed.
