Special Committee Companies Bill, 1962 debate -
Thursday, 21 Feb 1963

SECTION 126.

Question proposed : " That Section 126 stand part of the Bill."

At an earlier session of the committee, I suggested it was necessary at present for a company not having a share capital and being limited by guarantee, to file annual accounts and that they could not be private companies and that this would mean all religious orders would have to file annual accounts. I find, however, that it is not so and they do not have to file them. I see that the accounts provision is not in this section and I must apologise to my colleagues on the committee for keeping them for some time arguing about something that was not accurate.

Apology accepted.

Question put and agreed to.
