SECTION 294.

I move amendment No. 93 :

To delete lines 18 to 20 and substitute :

" any person, he shall be liable, on conviction on indictment, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years or to a fine not exceeding £500 or to both or, on summary conviction, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or to a fine not exceeding £100 or to both."

Amendment Nos. 94, 95, 96 and 112 are cognate with amendment No. 93. If the Committee agrees, they could be taken together.

Yes. The purpose of these amendments is to bring the penalty formula into line with what is used elsewhere in the Bill.

We have already agreed to that principle.
