Mitchell asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if his attention has been drawn to a UK report, Corporate Governance, Improvement and Trust in Local Public Services; if its findings are of relevance to Ireland; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The report referred to in the question is currently being examined in my Department and any good practice which may be appropriate to local authorities here will be considered in the overall context of the ongoing local government modernisation programme.
