256 Dr. Cowley asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) cannot be transferred to a Galway hospital for the care they require for the tracheotomy post an aneurysm operation complication; his views on the transfer to a Galway hospital from Roscommon regional; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The provision of services to residents of counties Mayo and Galway is the responsibility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply directly to the Deputy.
