139 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason an operation urgently required by a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny has not been arranged by the SEHB at Manchester Children’s Hospital; if the advice and arrangements as set out by the consultant paediatrician at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny in December 2003 will be followed; and if this operation will be carried out without further delay. Responsibility for the provision of services for people resident in County Kilkenny is, in the first instance, a matter for the South Eastern Health Board.

My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the South Eastern Health Board to investigate the matter and reply directly to the Deputy.
