30 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources if he will make a statement on the recent decision of Eircom to float on the Dublin and London Stock Exchanges, with particular reference to the large gains that will accrue to senior executives and the losses incurred by ordinary members of the public who purchased shares in the company on the advice of the Government in 1999. Eircom is a private company and the decision to float on the Stock Exchange and the management of that flotation is a matter for it alone. I have no function in the matter.
