484 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason Blanchardstown hospital has not been given the funds to open immediately the new accident and emergency unit and related works; and if he will make the funds available without delay. [11182/04]
View answerResponsibility for the funding of services at James Connolly Memorial Hospital, Blanchardstown, rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. The additional revenue funding required to commission, inter alia, the new accident and emergency department at the hospital is the subject of consideration by my Department in conjunction with the authority.
