View answerI am meeting a delegation from the Shannon area later this week to listen to views on a range of issues relating to Shannon Airport. The delegation will include local interest groups and public representatives whom I will be informing of the latest position regarding the EU-US aviation negotiations and their possible impact on Shannon. I will outline what I will be doing to mitigate their impact. I will also stress that the recent decisions by Aer Lingus regarding staffing levels are commercial decisions for the company and that it would not be appropriate for me to comment or intervene in those decisions.
