156 Dr. Cowley asked the Minister for Finance the percentage of the dormant accounts that were opened in the names of persons living outside the State; the total amount of moneys in these accounts; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12574/04]
View answerThe dormant accounts fund receives moneys from the institutions concerned in the form of lump sums once each year. As the moneys are not differentiated by individual accounts, neither I nor the disbursement board have details of individual ownership of the accounts. There is no requirement on credit institutions, under the dormant accounts legislation, to differentiate or to report information on the relative percentages of account holders living inside and outside the State.
