53 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Finance the numbers of civil servants who have been working in Dublin and are now working in another location after his recent Budget Statement; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12961/04]
View answerImmediately after the Budget announcement on decentralisation an implementation group was set up to drive the process forward. In its report to the Government on 31 March 2004, the implementation committee recommended the setting up of a central applications facility to receive all applications from civil and public servants to decentralise. This facility will be launched next week and, in the interim, no applications have been sought from civil or public servants for transfer. Consequently, no staff have yet been transferred out of Dublin under the programme to date.
