86 Mr. Stanton asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the way in which persons with disabilities can access employment in her Department; if there are special application procedures; the criteria by which it is decided that persons qualify; and if she will make a statement on the matter. View answerRecruitment to posts in the Department is undertaken by the Office of the Civil Service and Local Appointments Commissioners following approval from the Department of Finance. Persons with disabilities are eligible to compete in such competitions once they satisfy the qualifying criteria for the particular competition.
Competitions are advertised regularly on the Office of the Civil Service and Local Appointments Commissioners website at www.publicjobs.ie. On occasion, the Office of the Civil Service and Local Appointments Commissioners run specific competitions, on instruction from the Department of Finance, which are open only to persons with disabilities. Application procedures and qualifying criteria for such competitions are determined by the Department of Finance.
