99 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Finance the number of times he has issued written directions to his Secretary General, within the meaning of sections 4 to 6 of the Public Service Management Act 1997; and the nature and purpose of each such direction. [14946/04]
View answerSection 7 of the Public Service Management Act 1997 provides that "Subject to any other Act but not withstanding anything in this Act, the Minister of the Government having charge of a Department or a Scheduled Office may, in writing, give directions to the Secretary General of the Department or Head of the Scheduled Office in connection with the obligations of the Secretary or Head under sections 4 to 6, other than section 4(1)(h).” I have issued no such written direction.
