75 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Finance the progress made to date with regard to the negotiations between the Revenue Commissioners and the authorities in the Cayman Islands with a view to the conclusion of a tax information exchange agreement; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerIn response to a question on 6 May 2004, I stated that first round negotiations between the Cayman Islands authorities and the Revenue Commissioners for a tax information exchange agreement were held in Dublin on 24 November 2003. I also stated that a second round of negotiations took place on 7 April 2004. Further discussions are planned but as yet no definite dates have been fixed. As the Deputy will appreciate, it is not possible at this stage of the negotiations to comment further on their likely outcome.
