View answerMy Department's school building section approved a grant of €63,860 in July 2003 for the provision of security-lighting, fire and intruder alarm systems at the school referred to by the Deputy. The school in question did not make an application for security works under the 2004 summer works scheme nor is there an application for such funding on hand. It is open to the management authorities of the school to apply for security measures under the 2005 summer works scheme, details of which will be announced later this year. In the meantime, the authorities may use funding under the grant scheme for minor works to address any immediate needs at the school.
