167 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Defence the number of posts decentralised in respect of previous decentralisation in whole or part of his Department or any agency under the aegis of his Department; the percentage of staff who were transferred on promotion; the percentage of staff who transferred at their current grade; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The finance branch of my Department was decentralised to Galway in 1989, comprising of a total of 176 staff. The percentage of staff who were transferred on promotion was 4.3% and the percentage of staff who transferred at their current grade was 90.3%. Ten staff were directly recruited in the services areas, that is, the remaining 5.4%.
